SGL Project Case Study · 4-Storey Multi-Family Residential + Basement Parkade

Canadian Apartment Complex uPVC Windows Project

  • Multi-Family Residential
  • Vinyl / uPVC Windows
  • Cold Climate
  • NFRC Certified

SGL provided a complete window and door system solution for a four-story, multi-family residential apartment complex located in Martensville, Saskatchewan, Canada. The project involved the delivery of 243 units-comprising 159 windows and 84 sliding doors-all utilizing SGL's Series 83 and 88 Premium uPVC profiles. These units featured a black finish on both the interior and exterior surfaces, paired with a dual-pane insulated glass configuration consisting of 5mm Low-E / 5mm Clear glass, argon gas filling, and Warm-Edge spacers. The products achieved a commercial-grade performance rating of CW-PG65, boasting a center-of-glass U-Factor as low as 0.26 Btu/h·ft²·°F. Fully certified by the NFRC, these systems comprehensively meet the requirements of the 2018 BCBC (British Columbia Building Code), as well as Canadian energy efficiency and acoustic standards. Throughout a multi-month-long drawing review process, SGL collaborated closely with the construction firm; after navigating multiple rounds of RFIs, the designs were ultimately approved with zero defects and moved into production. This achievement serves as a powerful validation of SGL's end-to-end delivery capabilities-spanning design, manufacturing, and technical coordination-specifically within the context of multi-family residential projects situated in North America's cold-climate regions.
