A: A slab door is just the door itself. A prehung door comes already attached to a frame (jamb) with hinges. We highly recommend prehung units if your existing door frame is damaged, out of square, or if you are building a new wall, as it drastically reduces installation time.
Q: 2. How do I measure my rough opening for a prehung door?
A: To get the right fit, measure the bare stud-to-stud opening. Generally, your rough opening should be 2 inches wider and 2 inches taller than the actual door slab size. For example, a 32"x80" door requires a 34"x82" rough opening.
Q: 3. Is the glass safe for homes with children or pets?
A: Yes. We strictly use 4mm tempered safety glass in all our inserts. If broken under extreme force, tempered glass shatters into small, blunt pebbles rather than dangerous, jagged shards.
Q: 4. Does the door come painted and with a doorknob?
A: No, hardware (knobs/levers) is sold separately so you can match your home's exact decor. The doors come pre-drilled for standard hardware. Regarding finish, you can order them "Unfinished" (to apply your own custom wood stain) or "Primed White" (ready for your final coat of paint).
